Jen is the founder of August Hair Co. and a lifelong hairdresser who’s still just as passionate about her craft as she was over 30 years ago when she started. Known for her honesty, experience, and no-fuss approach, Jen brings both deep technical knowledge and a grounded presence to every appointment.

She specialises in colour, precision cutting, grey blending, and smoothing treatments — including Nanoplasty, where her understanding of hair health and texture truly shines. Whether you want to enhance what you’ve got or find a style that makes life simpler, Jen is all about hair that feels effortless, wearable, and true to you.

At the heart of her work is a belief in building real relationships — the kind where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported long after you’ve left the salon chair.

When she’s not in the salon, you’ll usually find Jen running teens from A to B, drinking tea (before it goes cold, if she’s lucky), walking the beach, or resisting the urge to reorganise the entire house for the third time that week.

Dakota Korrol

Senior Stylist

Dakota is a Capricorn through and through — calm, precise, quietly confident — and it shows in the way she approaches hair. With nearly a decade of experience, she’s all about colour that grows out beautifully, big bouncy waves that hold their shape, and styles that feel like you, just a little more polished.

She specialises in lived-in blondes, natural dimension, extensions, and styling that looks effortless (but is anything but). Her attention to detail is next-level — every section, every blend, every wave is done with purpose.

Clients love her for her calm energy, clean finishes, and honest advice — all delivered without pressure or fuss. She's not the loudest in the room, but her work speaks for itself.

Outside of the salon, Dakota runs on iced almond lattes, beach days, oversized shirts, and low-key campaigns to convince her partner they definitely need a dog.

Ashleigh joined August Hair Co with solid experience already under her belt — she’d spent time behind the chair before, but was holding out for a salon that felt like the right fit. And let’s just say… we’re so glad she found us.

Since joining the team, Ash has hit the ground running. She’s calm under pressure, quietly confident, and already becoming known for her skills across all areas of hair — from glossy blowdries and seamless colour to her now-famous basin experience. Trust us when we say: she’s one to watch.

Ashleigh is currently building her Emerging Artist offerings and now provides a wide range of services on the salon floor at a slightly reduced rate while she builds her dream clientele.

She’s focused, thoughtful, and always paying attention to the small details that make a big difference — and her growth is only just getting started.

When she’s not behind the chair, you’ll likely find her at the beach, sipping an iced matcha, or hanging with her dog andcat (yes, both — she’s balanced like that).

Koda Claridge

EMERGING ARTIST - SCHOOL BASED

Koda (short for Dakota) is our school-based emerging artist, balancing her time between study and salon life as she builds the foundation of what’s already shaping up to be a very exciting career in hair.

She’s currently in the early stages of her apprenticeship and is soaking up every opportunity to learn — from colour application and smoothing treatments to styling and her signature: a great blowdry. She brings consistency, curiosity, and a growing sense of confidence to everything she does.

Clients love her calm nature, eagerness to learn, and her ability to deliver a basin experience that’s both thorough and relaxing. She’s the kind of team member who always shows up ready to contribute, grow, and be part of something bigger.

When she’s not in the salon, she’s spending time with friends and family and enjoying a much-deserved break from her busy schedule.

She’s one to keep an eye on — and we’re so proud to be part of her journey.
